Filing a claim for this date

That was about 4.2 years ago. Many homeowners policies require notice of a loss within a set period and limit lawsuits to a set period after the loss, so check your policy before assuming an older storm is still claimable. Use July 19, 2022 as the date of loss only if this is the storm that hit your home; your carrier will check weather data for your address. Get the roof inspected first, then report the loss, be present for the adjuster, and compare the estimate line by line.
